David's wide variety of experiences include serving as the Lead Pastor of a gen-X church in Amsterdam (yes, The Netherlands), a church starter in the New York City metro area (New Jersey, although he doesn't like to admit it), a Creative Director and Small Groups Pastor for a church in Sacramento, and in his previous life, an advertising and communications professional.

He holds a B.S. in Communications from Georgia Southern University, a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA.  He has authored a new book, The Complete Idiots Guide to Evangelical Christanity and is known for his creative speaking style and his passion for community.  He lives in Marin with Dee, his wife of more than 20 years (though neither of them likes to admit that) and their three children.

Dieter comes to BayMarin from Re-Imagine, a San Francisco-based ministry designed to help re-think the church in the post-modern world.  He has served on the staff of Willow Creek Community Church near Chicago, where he led worship and developed the "Axis" ministry to post-modern young adults.  Prior to that, He started New Song Church in San Dimas, California.  He is the co-author of Inside the Soul of a New Generation.  Dieter's main focuses will continue to be leading our worship team while taking on the development of BayMarin's Faith Communities and building a team of people responsible for our Adult Ministries. Dieter lives in Novato with his wife, Valerie, and their three children.

Dee brings to BayMarin a wealth of experience as a professional educator and kids' ministry director.  A strong leader whose vision and energy for children is a hallmark, she has developed children's ministries and trained children's workers for nearly 15 years.  A graduate of Brown University and a former middle and high school teacher, she is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Education from Dominican University in San Rafael.  (She's also married to David, but we won't hold that against her…)

David is an accomplished painter and sculptor who uses his skills to teach about spiritual realities.  A graduate of Golden Gate Seminary in Mill Valley, David currently lives in San Rafael with his wife Karen.  He is the Director of Interfaces Arts & Healing, a ministry plant in San Rafael which BayMarin is an official sponsor of. David also serves on the Creativity Team at BayMarin where his talents are often displayed during Sunday morning gatherings.
