Let's face it, middle school students are different than most of us (unless you are a middle schooler and you think you are normal and the rest of the world is strange) and they have different challenges and opportunities. At BayMarin, we recognize this and design our Middle School ministry to create a safe and friendly environment to help our students grow. We feature a game time at the beginning to help get some of their energy out and to prepare them for the discussion time that follows. If you have been by the Youth Lounge when the students are in there, you know how much fun our Middle School ministry is.
Like the High School students, we have a midweek experience for Middle School students. During the school year, the guys and girls meet separately, but during the summer everyone is all together on Wednesdays. This time is intentionally focused on spiritually developing our students and building better relationships with each other and with God. A list of some of their recent activities includes:
- Overnight Lock-in
- Centrifuge Summer Camp
- Giants Game
- Pizza and Movie Night
- Six Flags Waterworld
The life of a high school student is hard. There are so many choices and the influence of friends, parents, and teachers that force students to make a choice about what they believe and what is important to them. Our High School ministry exists to help students grow in their relationship with God, while building better relationships with those around them. Whether it is the student worship band, small group times, service and mission trips or just hanging out, students experience God's kindness towards them and how they can extend that same kindness to others.
On Sunday mornings during the summer, our high school students can be found all over BayMarin serving and engaging with a variety of different ministries. Whether it is volunteering in the Preschool, being a greeter, playing in the band or being part of the adult worship gathering, the students are demonstrating their commitment to the community at BayMarin in very tangible ways. The culmination of their service is the Mexico Mission Trip.
On Wednesday evenings, high school students from all over Marin County gather at BayMarin to learn more about what the Bible says and to have fun. This time is intentionally open to high school students of all beliefs, and our students do a great job of making everyone feel welcome.
Our High School leadership team spend lots of time during the week with students, building relationships and encouraging them in their day-to-day lives. There is so much going on with our high school students that we don't have the space to talk about all of it, so you are going to have to trust us. Better yet, come check out what are high school students are about!
